Capric Triglyceride description
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a very popular ingredient in modern skincare, created by combining specific fatty acids from coconut oil with glycerin. The result is an ester oil with a lighter texture and significantly greater stability than raw coconut oil. It works as an excellent emollient that fills in the gaps between skin cells, making the skin feel instantly smooth, supple, and soft. The ingredient is highly valued by product formulators because it works as an excellent carrier for other active ingredients and vitamins. It gives skincare products a fantastic "slip" during application and penetrates the skin quickly without clogging pores or leaving a heavy, oily film. Since it is completely colorless and fragrance-free, and has an extremely long shelf life without the need for strong antioxidants, it is used in everything from luxurious facial oils and creams to makeup and sunscreen.
